Default How to use the adverb of frequency" always"

As we know adverb of frequency always is used more often in the present simple tense. But it is also used in present simple continuous, and past con tinuous..so.
for example: She always goes to the church on sundays
SHe is always talking in the class
He is always working
He was always calling me
always also is used for past habit
He always carried an umbrella
Can always is be used in all those way without any confusing?

When it used with the continuous form, it is often to show that the speaker disapproves of the action.
He always calls his mother. (good or neutral)
He's always calling me. (I wish he'd stop)

Hi Tdol
this means that when always is used with the continuous form, it is often to show that this action makes the speaker annoy, and it means the speaker complain about this action.is that right?
But always can be used with continuous for a frequently reapeated action
ex: He is always going away for weekends.
or for an action which appears to be continuous
ex: he always working.
two usages can be used???

hi
would can be used to express the past habits. and you can also used use to+ to infinitive for a past habit that no longer exits in the present or you don't do it anymore. but in this thread i wonder always can be use with past continuous for a past habit??

It can be, but there should be a reason for using a form:
He's always working- this could be used for the reason you said and to emphasise how much work he does.
He is always going away for weekends- I see no need for the use here unless there is something wrong with his being away so much.

I wouldn't say better.

he always used to go to bed early = he would always go to bed early [I'd say, with normal stress, and note the position of the adverb]

Also, if the stress is on "always", these are equivalent:

He always used to insist on having the last word

and

He would always insist on having the last word

But if you stress the "would" there's a big difference:

"He would always insist on having the last word" - expresses annoyance.
