| an examle : i live in a city in which i work. to me this isn't natural and normally i wouldn't say it like this but i think it's grammatically ok. any other clues?? |

| Hello. My analysis would be that in your example "in which" is a prepositional phrase acting as a conjunctive adverb (i.e. it's equivalent to "where"). Cheers John. p.s. Don't forget to capitalise your sentences. |
