effective methods in teaching phonics to a beginner

hi fellow teachers i'm a newbie here and a neophyte in teaching elementary students (especilly the pre-elem), i am a high school teacher by profession but i accepted the job in teaching elementary i'm having a hard time in adjusting my teaching methods on them.......... will you please help me how can i teach phonics in an easy way?????????? i'm so confused.............. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
