    Mary refered her friend's friend named Paul to her current employer, but actually Mary did not even met Paul before. So Paul approached the employer and claimed he's a friend of Mary's friend but off course........

    What does it mean of off course?

    I think bhaisahab meant the bit of the sentence that comes after "off course".
    Paul and Mary's friend play golf together amicably. But off course, they are fierce business competitors.

    But perhaps you mean "of course", which has a different meaning.
