    Smile what does the "busy beaming with pride" mean??

    In Friends episode 11 of season 1 ,when the Chandler knows his mom was arrest,he say "busy beaming with pride."

    I don't know that what the phrase mean.

    A "beam" in this case is a very big smile.

    I don't know why he is smiling with pride over his mother's arrest, though. I never watched the show.

    A more typical example is the mother who stands at the back of the auditorium beaming with pride as her child performs as the lead in the school play.

    {not a teacher, nor, obviously, a Friends watcher}
