    Exclamation Smoking Ban

From the past, many people think that smoking is a sign of coolness, but in fact it just damages the health. For a long time, researchers have been researching on cigarettes to find out what ingredients are contained in them. Cigarettes contain nicotine which is an addictive substance that makes smokers feel hard to quit. Smoking is not only a bad habit but also wastes money. Therefore, smoking is considered as the destruction of health. First of all, smoking damages the lungs, the heart and causes other diseases, in addition; you will learn several reasons why we need to ban smoking. The most important reason why we need to ban smoking is the effects of it on smokers and second-hand smokers. According to statistics tracked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 400,000 Americans die each year from diseases caused by cigarette smoking. The biggest killers are lung cancer and other smoking-related cancers, and heart disease. Tobacco causes more deaths than AIDS, illegal drug use, alcohol abuse, motor vehicle injuries, suicides and murders combined. In addition, over a 5 year-period, 2 million Americans die because of smoking cigarettes and tobacco. To non-smokers, breathing the air from smokers is terrifying because they only take the bad smoke from them. They even get a higher rate of diseases from that smoke. Thus, to the children, breathing the smoke the risks increase for childhood illness such as asthma and ear infections. Smoking affects the health of pregnancy and the newborn children. Pregnant women are a priority population for tobacco control efforts because both cigarette smoking and smokeless tobacco use during pregnancy pose serious risks to fetal health. In cigarettes, there are a lot of ingredients that can make people become addicted to, or suffer from diseases. There are so many people who donít know what ingredients in cigarettes are harmful to them. Smoking is too dangerous for smokersí health; therefore, we should have some solutions to ban smoking in the world. In the other hand, the money spent on smoking is one of the reasons why we need to ban smoking. It is estimated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that national productivity losses because of smoking total $92 billion each year. People who smoke cigars or cigarettes can spend as much as $2,500 a year on them. Families with at least one smoker spend up to 20% of their income on tobacco. Everybody can imagine what they could use with that amount of money. In addition, spending money on smoking is too much and leads to nothing, and there are no benefits that people can get from smoking. Smoking hits personal finances hard, and smokers are burning their money for no reason. In the contrary, with the big amount of money we can donate to non government organizations to wipe out the poverty and even change othersí lives. Finally, smoking is one of the factors that destroying the environment around us. Smoke from cigarettes is bad for not only the air but also for the people around it. Every day, most Americans are exposed to outdoor and indoor air that can cause cancer, and other serious health problems. Smoking greatly increases those risks. People who donít smoke have to breathe the bad air around the smokers. Although they donít smoke, the risks of getting ill are considerable; therefore, we can see that smoking causes many bad effects for public health. There is a true statistic that shows an 83 percent decrease in air pollution in pubs and an 80 percent decrease in airborne carcinogens. That is the reason why smoking needs to be banned in public to let other people can breathe the fresh air. Smoking is serious problem that needs to be taken care of. It can cause serious diseases for smokers and second-hand smokers like lung cancer, heart disease, and others. Smoking can also badly affect on infants and childrenís health. Day by day, smokers are spending more and more money on smoking instead of supporting their lives or even helping others people. Because of smoking, there are a lot of families that donít have enough money to support for their children; in addition, they have to spend more money for medical help. Those are problems that they have with the personal finance. Not only the economy but also the environment is being affected by smoking. Therefore, if we want a strong economy, clean environment, and a good public health, we need to ban smoking once and for all.
