    take after

so i understand that take after could mean to look like someone in your family or resemble a relative
but can take after also mean to act like someone in your family or resemble their character?
and if taking after does mean resembling someone else's character or mannerism
if i were to use put it in a sentence like this. my fingers are so clumsy i don't get where it took it after. lols. am i making any sense at all?
again thanks for being so helpful to me.

You could say, 'My fingers are so clumsy, I don't know who I take after.' or '..., I don't know who I get it from.'

Yes, you can use it for looks as well as for behaviour, manners, mannerisms.

You were making sense before you constructed this last sentence.

again thanks for being so helpful to me.
