    Antonyms

    Our 7th graders teacher wants him to find antonyms for words such as witness, detective, alibi, clue, coroner, deduction , detective, evidence, fact, foreshadowing, means, motive, mystery, opinion, opportunity, reason, red herring, sleuth, suspect these are all nouns how to you find and antonym for a noun?

    Try www.thesaurus.com, though some of those are a bit strange. What's the antyonym of 'witness'? I('m not sure there is one.

    I would say it could be "accused". What do you think?

    Not really- the witness sees the crime, the opposite would, surely, be someone who didn't see the crime, which isn't going to be much use in a court room.
