    Default Memorial bench

I would like to put an engraved plate on an outdoor bench, in memory of my parents. But I want to include my mother's first name, and I am not sure how to do this.

Using fictitious names, they were Dr. & Mrs. Smith, with the first names John and Jane.

Could someone tell me be the best way to refer to them, in the phrase: "In memory of...."

Thanks in advance for your help.

You could avoid the problem by omitting the title and just using their names, which would be quite usual.

Or rephrase along the lines of "In memory of John Smith MD and his beloved wife Jane...."
