Yes, a CV is longer and probably complete (but relevant) while a resume is one or two pages, a shorter CV.

    Hey,

Let me elaborate on the differences between CV and Resume.

Resume is compact; 1-2 pages not more
CV is detailed; more than 2 pages

Resume lists only your education and experiences and oes not go in detail/
CV lists your education and experienes in detail, talking about the subjects you studied, key projects, presentations, publications, your job responsibilities, your tasks, meetings, certifications, your complete progress within the company.

Mostly managers or people operating at high positions with a lot of experience have CVs which gives a detailed discription about their accomplishments in various companies.

Also academicians, professors, scientists, readers, etc build their CVs which provides a complete list of their area specilization, their area of work/research, their publications, seminars/lectures/presentations delivered by them, awards and recognitions, etc.

While applying for a job in a private firm, for a fresher, it would be adviced to construct a neat 1 page resume which lists his education and if any practical exposure. This resume is easy to read and does not consume time to go through and understand the profile of the candidate.

You can find various resume building softwares on the internet, which can arrange all your information in an attractive format.

    Good Luck
