Default personal pronoun "I" capitalized - why ?

Why is the personal pronoun "I" always capitalized in English?
Is there any exception to this rule ?
Why are the other forms of the first person (objectiv pronoun, possessive pronoun, etc) not capitalized as well?

Do you know any other languages where the "I" is capitalized?

P.S.: Feel free to correct any possible mistakes on my posts.

It is capitalised for clarity, look at this thread: http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/as...l-pronoun.html

I don't know of any other languages that use the personal pronoun 'I'.
