I received a letter from him the other day, it said that he lived comfortable.

    Hello.

I received a letter from him the other day, it said that he lived comfortable.

    1. Could you proofread the sentence above?
    2. Can I say: I received a letter from him the other day, and it said that he had been living comfortably?

    Thank you.

Your first sentence is not good, your second sentence is correct.
