    Default count

Hi, teachers, I saw this sentence, "When you go for a job interview your bearing is very important because the first impression count".
Here is no comma in this sentence, so how to understand the word count? Is it a verb or noun? If it is a verb, I think I should put a comma before "becasue", if it is a verb, I think I should say "because of the first impression count", am I right?

    Thanks a lot!

No, you don't need a comma. "Count" is a verb meaning roughly "to mean something; to be important".
It should read "the first impression counts" or "first impressions count"
First impressions are important. The first impression is important.
