People who steal are just bored with their lives.

A person who steals is just bored with their life.

People is plural so we use lives.

A person is singular so we use life.

Notice I've corrected your spelling too. (Hope that's OK).

'his/her' instead of 'their'? or 'their' = 'his + her'?

    Thanks

A person who steals is just bored with his/her life.

Although "a person", being singular should be followed by "his/her", it has become acceptable to native speakers to use "their" in reference to a single person.

If we know the gender, we use "his/her". If we don't, we use "their".

A person who steals is just bored with their life.
    A man........................................... his........
    A woman........................................her.. .....
    People.......................................... their lives.

Although "his or her" is grammatically correct, it sounds clumsy, so people rarely use that expression.

    Hope that helps.
