    Smile Importance of verb tense

    Hi,

Why in English Language Tenses are given so much of importance and we have so many tense forms (12)?
Others languages do not have so many verb tense forms.

    Thanks

Hello, I am 'The French', I am not a teacher,

but we are very lucky to have just twelve tenses. In France language, there are more than twelve.

I think you are happy now, to know that.

    Have a nice day.

Well there are other languages in which there are much less verb tenses, ex japanese, they would use specific words lke tomorrow, yesterday, etc to convey the time of an event, rather than modifying the verb.

After all why is it so important in english to denote the excat state and time of an event (every tense has 4 sub categories)??

There are oly two true tenses (in which the verb is modified) in English, past and present.
