I don't believe that one sounds better than the other. Using "those" sounds stronger - in some way. Maybe it's just because of the z sound and the voiced th combined. And, of course, "the" takes the weak form, of course. So essentially "the" is just a voiced th sound with no vowel, save for the schwa. There's not a lot of strength to that word - the.
If I had to really choose one of them, I don't think I could say I like the same one better all the time. It would depend on what mood I'm in. Sometimes I'm in a "the mood" and other times I'm in a "those mood".
