Are there differences between the terms
native and native-born ?
Are they used interchangeably?
A native-born is always meanta person who was born within the country's territory and has been legally recognized as that country's citizen from birth, as opposed to a foreign born who were not citizens at birth but subsequently become due to their birth in a native family temporarily residind at at the time of birth..
On the other hand a native can be a person born in a particular place as distinguished from foreigners, colonizers or a plant or animal that lives or grows naturally in a place and has not been brought from somewhere else.
A native of America, the natives of Brazil.
The red squirrel is a native of Britain
It can be also used as an adjective to describe the 1st laguage/culture of a country
English is the native language of America.
