Default Has your dog got a chip in its shoulder?

    Hello.

ELDC: NewsHas your dog got a chip in its shoulder?
Has your dog got a chip in its shoulder?

Shouldn't in be "on"? "Have a chip on your shoulder" means "to easily become offended or angry because you think you have been treated unfairly in the past," doesn't it?

    Thank you.

The question '... in its shouder?' is correct - it's a play one words, based on the idiom, but now it's not referring to the idea of being angry etc (which is less common in its application to animals). It's referrng to the microchip (chip) which would be inserted under the animal's skin, in this case at the shoulder.
So it's a play on words - often seen in journalism.

IT is a play on words, but... dogs are so nice, very few have a chip on their shoulder.
