Question Be the difference in Firefox Homepage

    Hi,

Today, I open the Firefox web browser, and it automatically open this link "Mozilla Firefox Start Page",

Within that page, there is a sentence "Be the difference! Learn how Mozilla is bettering our communities around the world with Mozilla Service Week. ",

I don't understand the meaning of "Be the difference".

    Thanks.

It means "be part of the difference", or "Be part of the people who are making a difference".
The idea is that Mozilla is made by people like you and me (as opposed to that other web browser, which no mortal has control over).

    Thanks,

Through you interpretation, I clicked into the link Mozilla Service Week, in which I found below descriptions for the meaning of the "Be the difference" :

We believe a group of committed, energized, service-minded people can accomplish almost anything. That's why we're harnessing the power of the Web and the passion of the Mozilla community to see how big a difference we can make in one week.

If there is just only the former part "be the difference" and no latter part of the sentence, is it also means the "be part of the difference"?

It's all part of the same thing.

"Be part of the difference" refers to the whole ad campaign, the whole restructuring of Mozilla. If you participate, you're part of the difference (you are the difference); if you don't, you're not.
There is no specific part of the web page that "Be the difference" refers to.

I take it as a Ghandiism: "You must be the change you want to see in the world."
