Smile what"s the meaning by "a three-vote majority"?

    In the sentence below,
The ruling party holds only a three-vote majority in the assembly.

Could you expalin its meaning in another way? I am not sure about the meaning of "a three-vote majority"?

    Thank you!

It means that the ruling party has only three votes more than the opposition party(ies).

Re: what"s the meaning by "a three-vote majority"?

Example: Labour party, 321 members, Conservative party, 300 members, Social Democrats, 18 members. Labour majority = 3.

Is that a prediction for the outcome of the next UK election?

Yes, but it's an incorrect prediction. Labour will fall. Or not. Actually Canada's in the same position. The top two traditional parties have leaders that fail to impress.
