    Hello,

    what would you like to go in for? is it correct? will a brit say that?

    As I'm sure you know, the phrasal verb GO IN FOR has two meanings:
    1. to to do something regularly, or to enjoy something.
    2. to take part in a competion.

    Having said that, your question makes sense if we consider definition No. 2.
    As for definition No. 1. your question doesn't quite work. You don't a person 'what he would like to be interested in', do you?
    The question should be rephrased: 'What do you go in for?'
