    Hi i am in Pre-ap english 2 in Denton Highschool. My english hw is to find the difference between "both" and "the both of them". Please help.

    Grammatically, 'both' is an adjective (both brothers), a pronoun (both went there) and sometimes a conjunction. In 'the both' it is a noun.
