Thumbs up English Movies to Learn the Accent/Usage

    Hi,

Please suggest descent/good English Movies (UK/US), which I can ask my students to watch in order to learn the UK/US accent and also the usage of words and expressions.

The movie should have a clear accent.
The movie should have a U certifiate (can be viewed by all age groups)
The movie should contain good educated language (less of slangs and colloquial expressions)

    Thanks

Personally I wouldn't go for movies, they are too long in my opinion when you are using them for study. In learning accents I always go to YouTube and find several videos which feature someone talking in the target accent for a few minutes.

Get your students watching and imitating the accent and speaker. If the actual content is dull, it doesn't matter because the videos are short and the students know that in a few minutes they will be watching another video on a different subject.

What if I want to improve myself or give students a home work or inculcate a habit of watching English movies rather than watching movies of their native language, then which movies should I suggest?

try movies about teenagers in high school or something like that where you'll probably hear a more average (less academic) conversations, instead of watching movies about let's say , a famous trial (in which is used a totally different way of speaking) or a movie about the civil war (where old English is used), also try to pick a not so old movie, y'know words get old-fashioned
