Can someone tell me, what are the transition signals? please...
For example, you might say at the start:
The first thing I noticed at the circus was .... (all about the clowns)
Then to begin your second paragraph, you might write
The next thing that caught my eye was .... (you tell about the lady on horseback)
Then to begin your last paragraph, you might write
But the most amazing thing of all was .... (you write about the man on the flying trapeze)
Transition signals guide your reader as to why you are mentioning your next point, and what it has to do with the idea of the essay. Otherwise, it might be confusing for the reader when you suddenly start talking about ladies on horseback. He might wonder what happened to the clowns, or he might think it's strange to be talking about horses one minute -- and the next minute you're talking about the trapeze.
