I'd suggest:

"Fever," Peggy Lee
"Stranger in Paradise," Tony Bennett
"Baby I'm a fool," Melody Gardot

Rod Stwart's "Sailing" is a must for present continuous

If you want some fun, for beginner's, you may use "The Book is on the Table"

And for intermmediate student's I suggest San Franciso by Scott McKenzie

Hi!

My suggestion is "All My Loving" by the Beatles.

It's easy to understand and it's a happy song!

Moreover, if you teach it you can use as an introduction to the Future Simple tense. It is suitable for 7th EFL grades or younger ESL pupils.

Enjoy :)

I've recently used Celine Dion's song "Immortality" to teach modal verbs (will, can, may) to my secondary school students.

I also used Mariah carey's song "Hero" to focus on the good qualities/feelings that any student (person) should have which are determination and optimism (When there's a will, there's a way).

I ask my students to bring me their favourite songs - that takes the emphasis off me and makes them participate more in the class because we are working with their chosen material.

One of my students recently picked 21 Guns by Green Day which was full of questions - v. useful - there were plenty of grammatical errors in this particular song so one of the tasks was to correct them.

All the best
Shelley
