    Default Word order

Something doesn't sound right in my sentence below:

The best time in primary school I remember was my school production.

The 'I remember' just doesn't seem to be in the right place in my sentence. I can't quite seem to get how to improve on the word order.

You could modify the sentence as suggested, or simply take it that "I remember" is added information and set it off with commas.

The best time in primary school was my school production.

The best time in primary school, I remember, was my school production.
