Smile Pronunciation of Everbody in British English

    Hi,

How would a posh British Speaker pronounce "Everybody"?

Does the "body" in Everybody has a "aw" sound or a schwa sound??

    Thanks

Neither; /ɔ/ An extreme RP speaker might use a sound approximating to /ʌ/.

I unfortunately cannot see the phonetic symbol which you have typed...

I wanted to ask that does the body in everybody has the "" pot sound (short vowel sound)?

    Sorry about that.

I'm happy with "". I don't use 'sounds like' equivalents, because there's no guarantee that readers will pronounce the rhyming word right (not the immediate reader - you - but future readers).
