    Re: Meaning

Spine-tingling (adjective) means frightening -- something that sends chills or "tingles" up and down your spine.

Beam down (phrasal verb) is a bit harder to explain. It likely originated with the 60s TV show "Star Trek" and meant literally to convert matter into energy and "beam" it from one place to another, where it was reassembled into matter again (e.g., sending a person from a starship in orbit over a planet to the surface of the planet, hence "beam down" -- the return trip would be called "beaming up"). It probably has some other colloquial uses (perhaps humorous), but this is the actual meaning of beam down/beam up.
