Default "of several reasons" - or not?

    Hello!

In a small essay I wrote in my English class, I got the phrase

English is today a very important global language of several reasons.
    corrected like this:

English is today a very important global language of (5) several reasons.
The '5' means that I have used a wrong idiomatic expression. The problem is that I cannot find any word to substitute 'of' in any of my dictionaries, nor my grammar book.

So my question is, what should I use instead of 'of'?

    Thanks in advance!
