    Exclamation simple present or present continous

    which one is true
    1.Be quiet! I'm trying to concentrate
    2.Be quiet! I try to concentrate
    and
    1.He always goes to school at 07:00 o'clock, but today he doesn't go to school because it is summer.
    2.He always goes to school at 07:00 o'clock, but today he isn't going to school because it is summer.

    I agree with you, but would you please explain why we use I'm trying to concentrate, because my lecturer said we have to use I try to concentrate, and when it happened I could not gave my objection because I didn't have anyproof enough.I would say thanks again

    Hello.... the true choices are :

    1.Be quiet! I'm trying to concentrate ( because it describes the siuation in the moment of speaking )


    -When it comes to the second point :

    1.He always goes to school at 07:00 o'clock, but today he doesn't go to school because it is summer.( the speaker want to say the student -in this day- doen not go ) .... it is ture and we can say that .

    If you tell someonebody to be quiet, you don't want to be interrupted right now. You are working on something right at this moment and that's when you use Present Progressive tense (where a present action is continuing).

    If you say I try to concentrate it doesn't have the same expression of instantaneous determination on your part.
