Could you please tell me if the following sentence is correct:
'We know much less about the details of human heredity than about animal heredity'
Shouldn't it be 'much lesser' in the sentence above as we are comparing two different things.

It's 'less time than...', 'less money than...'
'fewer people than...' 'fewer words than...'
'A dog is less intelligent than a pig'
"he is more handsome than Brad Pitt"
'...the lesser of two evils': not as great or important as the other (evil)
"...the lesser evil...: not as great or important as some other (evil), or all the rest (of the things in the world that are evil)
These are my thoughts. Can others clarify this difference further for kilambi, please?
