    Click here for a definition. Te form of the present subjunctive is the same as the infinitivewithout to, and the form of the past subjunctive is the same as the simple past, except for be, which uses were for all persons.

    In British English, the present subjunctive is almost never used, apart from a few expressions, while in American English it is more common.
