    Default highest-positioned-people ??

    Hi,
I'm just a little bit confused about this sentence. Can you tell me which one is grammatically correct? Or if neither of them is correct, could you suggest how to re-write the sentence, keeping the original idea?

    - The building is for the highest-positioned-people only.
    - The building is for the highest position people only.

    Thanks in advance.

There are two things wrong with this sentence. The adjective "highest" cannot modify the adjective "positioned", and you cannot put a hyphen between the compound adjective and the noun "people" that it is modifying.

    - The building is for the highest-position people only. after you put a hyphen between "highest" and "position" to from the compound adjective.
    Thanks in advance.

You need a hyphen between "high" and "position".

"highest" is higher than "high". (for example, the top 10% vs the top 30%)
