    Default Being stood up

What does it mean when someone says "I am being stood up"?

Someone made a date and decided not to come, to abandon me.

Does it also mean - being left out?

If I go to a night club with a group of friends, and they mingle and dance with the crowd, unintentionally leaving me alone, can I say I am being stood up here?

Possibly, but not normally. That's just abandoned or ditched.
