Default Making something without the use of your eyes

Does anyone know if is this a correct sentence:

This designer has a very special and unique way of working. Because she is blind she makes her costumes by touch.

Can't find the proper translation for it.

    THanks in advance

She is visually impaired; she uses her hands to guide her.
She is visually impaired; she uses her sense of touch to guide her.
