    Dear taghavi,

Please choose the exact word. As you see a word can cover different concepts:

    Zamin:

    1. the earth
    2. ground
    3. floor

    Khaak:

    1. soil
    2. dust
    3. clay
    4. grave

    2. dust= گرد خاک مثل همان دفعه که گفتی:بوی خاک
    3. clay= خاک رس_ واسه کوزه گری
    4. grave= سر خاک کسی رفتن

I think All alternarives are ok. but the usage of each one is different. You taught me before that we choosed dust for smell of "khak" and now I have just learned (learn again) ground is used for the common concept of zamin and not the name of our specific "planet". By the way, you could add "land" to the part of "zamin" and it can be used for the concept of realm, territory an country.

    Thanks for your advice,

Exactly! You're so good at this and will be better.
Yes, and field is also possible.

Your renderings are just perfect. If you scrutinize all the words this way, you'll make a huge progress.

    Now the connotations:

    Khaak:

    1. homeland

    2. contempt
In this sentence, the speaker insults the listener: "khaak bar sarash konan!"

So words carry some cultural value too that should be taken into consideration.

    Khaak:

    1. soil= خاک کشارزی و باغچه

    2. dust= گرد خاک مثل همان دفعه که گفتی:بوی خاک

Of course, dust can be used for a 3D movement when we describe a mass of particles in the air; so it can be inhaled.
It was the main reason why I suggested this word for "freshness". It means ghobaar.

    3. clay= خاک رس_ واسه کوزه گری

    4. grave= سر خاک کسی رفتن

In this case, khaak as a noun, means the burial place of a person:
Deerooz raftim sare khaak-e pader bozorg.

It's interesting that khaak is also existent in English, but its meaning has been restricted to such an extent that it's only used to refer to a color:

    khaki: brownish yellow.

I did a search for khaki. The word refers to both the color and the fabric. (According to Infoplease, the word khaki comes from Hindi. According to Wikipedia, the Indians got the word from the Persians.)

The word went around the world and ended up here.

Thank you, Ronbee. This is definitely an etymological advantage of cross-linguistic discussions.

There're so many other instances, of course.

By the way, articualting the word may sound a bit difficult for English speakers: KH should be pronounced something like the Ch in Bach. The German version, I mean. It may also be interesting to know how the sound became obsolete in English.
