Default We'll see us next week.

Is it really unacceptable to say "We'll see us next week." not even in a colloquial way. I did so in class yesterday and was told it should be "We'll see each other next week." Your comments are greatly appreciated.

"We'll see us next week" is not correct. "We'll see each other next week" is the correct way to say it.

    Hello Bhaisahab,

Thank you. I've heard people saying it though but will cancel it from my memory.

Yes, it's awkward, as it's like saying ?He'll see himself next week or ?they'll see themselves next week.

    I use:

    • We'll see one another next week.
    • I'll see you (all) next week.

Honestly, that's very fussy in my opinion!
But okay, I will remember it
"We'll see each other next week".
    Thanks.

Maybe I always think about German, but there are differences

    Cheers!

I'm curious, so I'll ask: Why do you think 'We'll see each other next week' is very fussy?

Because in German "We will see us next week." would be fully right.
    (If you translate it 100%.)

    But as I said:
Both languages have their differences, people just have to know them

    Cheers!
