    Bloody hell, Bloody expensive...

    Hi all Americans,

British English would use "Bloody" to express "very", such as Bloody Expensive, Bloody Good, but I want to know any adjective would be used in American English, like Bloody?

    Re: Bloody hell, Bloody expensive...

Well, I am not a native speaker nor American..

I'm only a student who study English as a second language..

But I guess I know the answer of this question, because I like to read Yahoo answers that concerns the usage of such words and expressions. Once I was searching for the meaning of bloody hell and when you can use it..

They said it means like OMG,

    I hope it helped ^^

One equivalent might be "hell-of-a"; both have religious origins. In my granddad's generation, "bloody" was very very strong, almost sacrilege to say.

Hi konungursvia, is it "hell-of-a" often used in daily life? I just checked the longman dictionary, it gave me the following examples:

    Hes got a helluva temper.
    Hes a helluva nice guy.
