Default Do you have/Have you got?

    Hello

Can anyone define the line between "Do you have...?" and "Have you got...?" in Standard English?

    Thank you
    Mandy

In British English, 'dp you have' would be used for actions and 'have you got for possessions', but the distinction is becoming blurred as 'do you have' is increasingly used for both, though 'have you got' isn't used for actions.
