Question Any name for this party?

    Hi there,
Is there any special name the British speakers use to refer to a party given when one one has recently got some achievement? (especially for a meal)...For example you pass an important test or get a degree and (friendly!) you have to invite friends over for a meal, or invite them eat out...In Persian we have one verb refering generally to the event, so including both the meal and the party (in Persian: Sur dadan (to give "sur").........................thanks in advance.

    A congratularty.

Actually, I just made that up. I really don't know of any word in English, whether verb or noun.

Let me know if you find one!
