    Advice

    Hello
Could you please explain, is "advice" countable or uncoutable word, and what does "a piece of advice" mean?
For example, is that correct to say "A few pieces of advice"? If I want to emphasize that there are several hints or tips which I want to give somebody? "a few pieces of advice", "a few advices"? Or you use "advice" only as a uncoutable word and the correct phrase is "some advice"?
    Thanks in advance

    Re: Advice

Telling people what to do is a ... piece of....

    1. Let me give you a piece of advice.
    2. Let me give you some advice.

1 sounds less authoritative than 2. They have the same meaning.

'advice' is uncountable, a noun, therefore should never be used in plural.

    Re: Advice

    Oh thank you
It's interesting... in my book there is an exercices, where there is 2 columns: in the second you have differend uncountable nouns, in the first one - words which can make the words in the 2 column countable. For example, a tablespoon of sugar. And also I had "a piece of" and "advice" like it makes it plural and I can use "a few pieces.."
    anyway, thank you:)
