Default what date are you planning your trip on?

“what date are you planning your trip on?”
Is it possible to ask this way? It sounds to me a bit unnatural, but how to put it correctly if I need to specify a day? Thank you.

"On what date are you planning to travel?" or "On what date are you planning to start your trip?"
