    Default entertain the fiction

What's the meaning of an expression "let's entertain the fiction that...."

as in "let's entertain the fiction that I'll win today" in a culinary competition?

    Thanks.
I'll be waiting for your reply.

'to entertain an idea' means to imagine or suppose it.
By saying "the fiction", the person is implying that he probably won't win. So it means:
Let's imagine the unlikely fact that I'll win today. or
This is improbable, but let's suppose I'll win today.
