Dear Sir or Madam,

I'm writing to you to apply for the Master's Degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

I studied a Licenciatura en Educación Física during five years, comparable to British Bachelor (Honours) degree in Physical Education, obtaining Qualified Teacher Status in Physical Education subject in Secondary School. Afterwards, I specialised in Management in Sports Companies.
Professionally, I worked as a State School Teacher for four years, and as a Sales Manager in a company of the Beauty Industry for three years.
I also have working experience in the UK, as I worked in two hotels for a few months some years ago , in order to have a professional experience in another country different than mine, and mainly, to improve my English language skills.

I have always been interested in finding lifestyle models in which individuals feel better with themselves, and I am convinced that physical fitness is the main part in that.

At present, diet and lack of exercise account thousands of deaths annually in developed countries. Recent studies have shown that only few percentage of the population exercises regularly; and there is an important percentage of the population that state they would like to exercise, but still don't do it for any reason. Therefore, there is a lot of work to do.
Exercise has been shown to improve medical outcomes in chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and coronary artery disease. However, few individuals know how to begin a safe and effective exercise program.

Fortunately, in recent years are being establishing well-being social tendencies and active lifestyles needs. In example, in Catalonia, where I am from, even The Regional Government is taking part of it, creating a health promotion programme for primary healthcare services, based on prescribing and advising physical activity and where general public can find advise.
As a consequence, I strongly believe that exercise medicine practice must, more than ever, have a solid understanding, supported by a strong academic foundation of how to guide individuals through a long and satisfactory life.

I want to take a step forward in my academic background and complete the MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine, to further my career aspirations of being a better professional and becoming a Physical Education Consultant. Having this knowledge will allow me to better understand and apply exercise medicine principles. Besides that, I consider UK academic education at world's top level , and University of Exeter is broadly recognised as one of the best in Sports Sciences taught programmes.

Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward very much to your response.

Yours faithfully,
