[General] cease/outfit(n)/outfit(v)/bait and switch tactic/mingle/foible

Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentences?

The old empire has ceased to exist.

America ceased pretending it had moral leadership some 40 years ago, and has nothing special to offer anyone.

They ceased their efforts.

You have to cease talking.

The snow never ceased falling.

When will this quarrelling cease?

When can the people cease from their labours?

cease = put an end to a state or an activity

I won't buy a car from this outfit; they're notorious for their bait and switch tactics.

He's carrying this entire outfit on his shoulders.

outfit = a commercial organization; enterprice; firm

notorious = known widely and usually unfavorably

bait and switch tastic = a fraudulent sales tactic

She did not wear the same outfit two days running.

outfit = a set of clothing (with accessories)

Some of the modern outfits don't have brass.

outfit = musical band

He outfitted at the Chicago Store, getting the best all-wool ready-made suit in Arizona.

outfit (v) = provide with (something) usually for a specific purpose

ready made = already made, prepared, or available

ready made clothes = ready-to-wear clothes; store clothes

A television outfit went there to shoot the story.

outfit = any cohesive group; team

And, mingling with all kinds of society, I frequently fell into many foolish errors, and displayed the weakness of youth, and the foibles of human nature.

mingle = associate; get involved or mixed-up with; rub shoulders;

foible = fault; shortcomings;

cease = put an end to a state or an activity = to discontinue, to come to an end

I won't buy a car from this outfit; they're notorious for their bait and switch tactics.

He's carrying this entire outfit on his shoulders. (A set of tools or equipment for special kind of work)

outfit = a commercial organization; enterprice; firm= any group or association regarded as a cohesive unit, such as a military company, business house, etc

notorious = known widely and usually unfavorably

bait and switch tastic = a fraudulent sales tactic to attract customer ti the sale counter by Bait adverting= Bait advertising is an alluring but insincere offer to sell a product or service which the advertiser in truth does not intend or want to sell. Its purpose is to switch consumers from buying the advertised merchandise, in order to sell something else, usually at a higher price.
