In one movie when Leslie Nielsen's character enters a room and sees another man sitting at the arm-chair back to him. Next comes dialogue.

Sitting man that seems doesn't expect an intruder exclaims: Who are you?

Leslie Nielsen's character: I'm a locksmith

Sitting man: How did you get in here?

Leslie Nielsen's character: I'm a locksmith

Explain, what does it mean this double answer, I'm a locksmith.

A locksmith is a person who can open locks. In other words, he does not need the key to enter any room. His profession is to help people open locks.

Isn't this a great example of how a sentence can "mean" so many different things based on the context?

The first question is "who are you?" so he answers by telling his profession. He is a locksmith, which is someone who fixes locks on doors, etc.

The second question is "how did you get in here" so he answers by telling what allowed him to get in - since he is a locksmith, he must be able to open locks. So that explains how he was able to get in.

Same answer, but different meanings. Very fun.

This is from the movie "Airplane"(1980) and one of my all-times favorites for this kind of jokes.
