    Question Short forms of Writing?

    Hi, there

1- What do you call such short forms as u, plz, will ring tmrw, and so on used in chat rooms and mobile phone SMS?

2- Could be words like "4" for "for", or "2" for "to" considered as a rebus writing?

1 - 'Text speak' is what I call it.

2 - I would say yes. At least, '4' and '2' could be used in a rebus puzzle.
