    at- general loaction- at work, at home
    on- top surface- on the table, on the floor

    Time
    At-
    clock times
    general holiday periods- at Easter
    at the weekend (British English)

    On-
    days and dates
    on the weekend (American English)

    In
    months
    years
    seasons
    centuries
