    Red face language structure query!

Can anyone identify the language form, structure and then the function/meaning of the following text please?!

"The more you have to do, the more you need a list and few people with high-powered jobs get by without them"

    any help appreciated!

I'm not sure if I understand what you're asking. But here are some things about the sentence:

English Grammar - look at c.ii.
High-powered means important in this sentence.
Get by without means manage (do, carry on) without. I can't get by without food, but I can get by without vodka.
