Default First, Second, Third, Fourth, etc.

What type of adverb are these?

First, we need to see the sentence before we can answer that.

    (could be an introductory adverb)

They are rarely adverbs at all. Most often they modify nouns (adverbs modify verbs, adjectives or other adverbs).

    Disjuncts...

First, you must wash the car; second, take out the garbage; and third, walk the dog.

Maybe... there isn't much information concerning their adverbial use.

I'm not sure how's about the other ones, but "first" doesn't have to be a disjunct:
Do your homework first and then you can watch the movie.

Ordinals seem to be versatile. I haven't given them much concern until now. Adjectives, adverbs--they are capable of modifying much.
